Opportunities, Challenges and Risks associated with outsourcing Health and Social Care Services in the UK..

Public sector outsourcing has been noted to be a popular mechanism for providing government service. We argue that even though governments of all levels in western countries have wide political experience, there is comparatively less agreement regarding the uniform benefit of outsourcing or the possible reductions in government expenditure.

Recently our work found that outsourcing has shifted from upfront tasks like garbage collection and cleaning to rather complex tasks like the support services, MRI, CT Scan, blood collection and analysis and others, provided by the outsourcing companies even on NHS premises.
